Has anyone summitted Goldenears by the Panorama Ridge route at this time of year?

-Is Goldenears Park even open at this time of year?
-How crowded will the Panorama Ridge trail/ summit be at this time of year?
-Is the mountain shelter at 1200 meters, just before the ridge, but after Alder Flats open now?
-How can I find out about snow conditions?
-Can I make the summit (at this time of year --- Jan 25) with ordinary hiking shoes or do you think I would need crampons, etc?
-The brochure says there are only park staff in summer --- is there nobody at the park with whom I could leave an itenerary (in case of mishap)?

Any feedback from anyone would be appreciated.

I think Ketchup's right, there's a river crossing.  As for this forum, yeah looks new, but lets get it started!

Yeah - I think it's kind of new so only a few people have found it.

Don't you have to cross a river on that trail?  I'm no expert but I'd suggest waiting for better conditions before attempting this one in regular hiking boots Tom.
