Seeing that summer is near, I feel it's time to get off the couch and go out and enjoy the sunshine. I'm thinking of joining a hiking club, I've browsed around clubtread.ca but am wondering if anyone on here had personal experience with a hiking club that's not overly challenging.
Thanks!

Try northshorehikers.com or just search google for them. On second thought how old are you. I'm a novice hiker too.

I'm 26 - but unfortunately haven't been active since.....well, P.E. class in high school actually.... Are you interested in joining a hiking club as well? Maybe we could go on one of the hikes together?

I'm 22,male. Love to join a hiking club cuz they would offer expertise but I hate meeting new people. Always feel like I have to entertain them in order to like me. Plus i'm shy. BTW, what hikes have you done in the Lower Mainland?

I haven't been hiking for ages - the last time I went was during my teens with my dad - we went up to N. Van (don't quite remember the trails)..... Trust me, you don't need to entertain people to make them like you (yes, i remember when i was 22 and meeting people was a pain). Just be yourself! There's nothing worse than putting on a mask - it's hard on the entertainer and the entertainee - you're not giving them a chance to get to know/like you.

Hike around buntzen lake. It is a nice moderate and scenic hike. It is about 8 kilos all the way around.

If thats a bit tough to start with, since you haven't been that active since....P.E. was it?, try Minnikada (I think thats how ya spell it) Park in PoCo. It's not that tough a trail, pretty easy really, but there's a view at the top at just under 300 meters. It's a good place to kill a hour or two & have a bit of lunch or something at the top.
