Hi
Everyone,
A few
months ago I posted on the forum with a few questions and I received some really
valuable advice on Vancouver. I'm visiting B.C in august for 10 days and I want
to add to my itinerary a trip to the Rockies so I get out of Vancouver and see
more of what beautiful B.C has to offer.
We plan to rent a car and I've spent some time online and in
the Lonely Planet guide looking at what routes to take and what to see. I was
hoping to get some unbiased advice as to what people think a tourist should see
in B.C when en-route to the Rockies (haven't picked specifically where
yet).
Were
planning to do some mountain-biking (got some great advice on this from
Kiwi, tnx =D ), Horse-riding,Fly-fishing, Photography and generally see as much
of B.C from the outside as possible. We'd also like to chill a bit too and visit
some really cool towns.
If you
had a "Top 5 places to visit" between Vancouver and the Rockies what would they
be and why ?
All
your help is really greatly appreciated !!!
Many thanks =D

Funny, I'd love to have visited Dublin before I left the UK but never got round to it; love the accent as softer than the Northern one, have visited Belfast before, went mtbing there.

Deep Cove; great for sailing; kayaking/ canoeing/ swimming area too; and good all round scenery/ hikes, with 2 great parks, a great chill location, and some nice restaurants/ cafes too.
Squamish for the outdoors as well, fishing/ climbing/ mountain biking/ windsurfing/ scuba diving near by along the coast.
Vancouver Island, Tofino - all I know recommend it highly, beautiful beach area; and Victoria I hear is more English than England - though I'd be the judge of that one of course ;)
I've yet to travel through the Rockies, though I've seen Ontario already (Kingston university town; Niagra falls; Toronto (it's like London!); and Ottawa. Nice but too flat for me, Vancouver is defo the place to be.
I know it's south of Vancouver and not on your list; but Seattle is not far away and worth a visit 3 hrs drive away, and Washington has a Bavarian town which I aim to visit too.
