Went there Sat for the first time and my bf who has gone skiing over 200+ took me to the top with very little instruction and let me lose. Not fun i feel on my ass the whole way down. When i finally reached the bottom 2 hours later i saw the kitty slope...why the hell did he take me up there to begin with? Isn't that like really unsafe? : (

I thought Grouse and Seymour were the best for beginners.
Cypress is for advanced skiers isn't it?

Your bf sounds like a dumbass... are you sure he isn't trying to trade you in for a new model... ;-) You should start on green runs, and progress to the blues before going anywhere near a black diamond. You will have more fun and not run the risk of injury or death!

BS to forced learning. A novice can KILL THEMSELVES if stuck at the top of a black diamond run... your BF was stupid to take you up there. Learn on the bunny hill first, progress to green runs and only after you're really confident, attempt the black diamond runs.

Best "learner" mountains are Grouse & Cypress ...

like when you are living on your own, you learn to cook (kind of) pretty fast.

forced learning, the best most practical way.

The first time I skiied my friends took me to Seymor. The second time was Balckholm. Took me and friend to the top and said meet ya for lunch. I learned how to ski really fast.
Yes it can be dangerous
